Mike Leach Fired as because accused of confining Adam James who is the son of former NFL running back and current ESPN college football analyst Craig James to an equipment room and an electrical closet over two practice sessions. Adam James was suffering an injury at the time, and was unable to train.

Texas Tech gave the termination letter before both were due to appear in the court to Mike letch's attorney moments on the matter. Mike Leach's attorney has planned to file the lawsuit against the school on behalf of Mike Leach as per he has been dismissed without noticing his merits.

When Leach firing was announced in Lubbock courtroom, someone yelled, “Well you’re going to have a bunch of empty seats in that stadium!”
